DAIRY GOATS
Rules:
1.
All
State of
WI mandatory health regulations apply. See County and District
Fair, Rules and Regulations of Health in front portion of book.
2.
In
addition, the following rules will also apply:
3.
Any goat
with abscesses or showing symptoms of any contagious disease
will not be allowed at the Fair.
4.
The
Superintendent WILL disqualify and send home any goat
that smells of buck, is not clean, or properly groomed, fitted,
fed or cared for at Fair.
5.
Male or
goats with full natural horns will NOT be entered.
6.
Registered and recorded grade goats must be shown in grade
classes UNLESS copies of the official registration papers
are presented to the Superintendent upon check-in of animals.
These papers will remain on file through Fair.
7.
Age
classification: The age of the goat shall be determined as of
the opening day of Fair. Does that have freshened at least
once; including dry milkers may only compete in the milking doe
class. Does that are over 24 month of age or older and have not
freshened may NOT be shown.
8.
All
exhibitors are required to clean out their pens and empty their
hay feeders on the last day of Fair.
9.
Stall
rent shall be $.50 per animal to be paid at the time of entry.
No refund will be made on stall rental.
10.
Any animals shown in Junior Class can NOT be shown in
Open Class under the same class and lot.
11.
All goats shown at the Fair MUST have neck collars on
for the entire time that they are on the fairgrounds.
12.
There will be a pre-show milk-out at
8:00 pm the day
proceeding the show day.
GROUP EXHIBITS
a. An exhibitor's herd
shall consist of one doe under 1 year, 1 yearling doe and 1 doe
2 years or older, all owned by the same exhibitor.
b. A senior get of
sire shall consist of 3 does which are the get of one
sire, with at least one in milk. The animals need not be owned
by a single exhibitor.
c. A junior get of
sire shall consist of 3 does under 2 years that have
never freshened and are the get of one sire. The animals need
not be owned by a single exhibitor.
d. A produce of dam
shall consist of 2 does of any age which are the produce of one
doe. Animals shall be owned by a single exhibitor.
e. A dam and daughter
shall consist of one doe, of any age, and its’ dam. The animals
need not be owned by a single exhibitor.
