DAIRY CATTLE
Rules:
1. All State of WI mandatory
health regulations apply.
See County & District Fairs, Rules & Regulations of Animal
Health in front portion of this book.
2. In addition the following
rules will also be enforced:
3. All cattle entries are
open to Jefferson and adjoining counties EXCEPT a partnership
bull, in which case at least one partner must be a
Jefferson County resident. All animals must be owned by
exhibitor at least 60 days prior to the fair.
4. Stall rent shall be $1.00
per animal, which is to be paid at the time of entry. No stall
rent shall be refunded. Stall rent must accompany entry blank or
the fair cannot guarantee stall reservation.
5. Aisles are to be kept
clear with the exception of the show trunk.
6. All animals must be
registered in the herd book of their respective breeds and at
least four months old at the time of exhibit. Registration must
be checked with the superintendent at Check-In.
7. Only animals entered and
shown in individual classes are eligible to compete in group and
herd classes.
8. All animals in the open
class shall be owned by the exhibitor except as provided in
sections 160.05 (3) and 160.09 (b) (group class definitions)
Wis. Adm. Code.
9. Animals from one farm
owned by members of one family can be shown in group classes.
Animals exhibited in the junior division may be used in the
group classes.
10. Only one entry will be
allowed in group classes per exhibitor.
11. All group classes must
consist of at least one open class entry.
12. Cows, 36 months old or
over, must have produced a calf within the past 18 months or
proved to be in calf.
13. All exhibitors are
requested to remove blankets between the hours of
10 a.m. and
4 p.m. after animals
have been shown in their respective class and at other times if
requested.
14. The owner of any animals
showing evidence of any contagious disease MUST have a statement
from a veterinarian showing that this animal is incapable of
transmitting the disease.
15. A plate, card, or tube
test will be acceptable for health requirements.
16. Exhibitors must keep the
space in the rear of their stalls clean and clear; manure must
be placed where indicated by the superintendent. Exhibitors must
keep animals well bedded at all times.

Group Class Definitions
A junior
get of sire shall consist of 3 animals which are the
offspring of the same bull. All of these animals shall be under
2 years of age, and not more than one can be a bull. Animals
need not be owned by one exhibitor.
A senior
get of sire shall consist of 3 animals which are the
offspring of one sire. All of these animals shall be 2 years of
age or over, and not more than one may be a bull. The animals
need not be owned by a single exhibitor.
In both the
junior and senior get of sire classes, the name of the sire
shall be designated by the exhibitor.
A produce of dam shall consist of 2 animals, any
age and any sex which are the produce of one cow.
A group
of 3 best female cattle shall consist of 3 animals, any age,
bred and owned by the exhibitor.

Class H - Future Showman Class
Rules:
1. This class is being
offered as a ribbon only class (no premium).
2. An adult needs to be
present in the ring with each participant.
3. Each animal must be
properly entered in either Junior or Open class
4. Showman age
to be determined as of January 1 of current year.
5. Can register
the day of the show.
6. This will be
the first Class shown on Friday.
