OPEN CLASS CULTURAL ARTS RULES AND CLASSIFICATIONS

 

2008-2009

Department 118

CULTURAL ARTS

Rules:

 1.  All State of Wisconsin and Jefferson County Fair rules apply. Both sets of rules are found in front portion of this book.

 2.  Open class exhibits are open to Jefferson County residents and adjoining counties as space permits.

 3.  All work must be original and may not have been exhibited at a previous Jefferson County Fair in junior, open, or senior class.

 4.  Entries in this department are to be brought to the fairgrounds on the Thursday before fair week between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

 5.  Judging is Friday of pre-fair.

 6.  Only 1 item may be entered under each lot number per class, per exhibitor.

 7.  All entries will be released after 7 p.m. on Sunday evening of fair week. Pick up times are 7-10 p.m. or by noon on Monday.

 8.  Entries must be framed or matted and must be prepared for hanging. Not responsible for damaged items due to improper hangers. Do Not Use Tape!

 9.  Due to limited display space, maximum picture size is 36”x48"

10. Pictures with wet or tacky paint will not be accepted.

11. Nude pictures will not be accepted.

Rules:

1.   Commercial kits may not be used.

2.   Items considered too fragile for exhibit purposes will be exhibited at exhibitor's risk.

3.   Items intended for use as a small wall hanging should be properly prepared for hanging.

4.   Ceramic items should be fired.

5.   Items entered in wrong lot number will be disqualified.

Rules:

 1.  All arrangements may be a combination of dried and artificial or either one.

 2.  All types of fabric flowers may be used in the arrangements.

 3.  No material can be used that is protected by the Statutes of the State of  WI.

 4.  The fair is not responsible for damage to containers.

 5.  All rules for Dept. 118 - open class apply to this class
