DAIRY GOATS
RULES:
1.
All
State of
Wisconsin health regulations apply. See County & District
Fairs, Rules and Regulations of Animal Health in front of this
book.
2.
All
Jefferson County Junior Fair Rules, Ethics Policy and Show Ring
Ethics apply as printed in the front of this book
3.
Any goat
with abscesses or showing symptoms of any contagious disease
will not be allowed at the Fair.
4.
The
superintendent WILL disqualify and send home any goat
that smells of buck, is not clean, or properly groomed, fitted,
fed and cared for at the fair.
5.
Bucks or
goats with full natural horns may NOT be entered.
6.
Registered and recorded grade goats must be shown in grade
classes UNLESS copies of the official registration papers are
presented to the superintendent upon check-in of animals. This
is the responsibility of the exhibitor. These papers will
remain on file through fair. YOU MAY NOT change lots
after entries have been received except with exception notice
from Fair Office for ribbon only.
7.
Age
classifications: The age of the goat shall be determined as of
the opening day of fair. Does that have freshened at least
once, including dry milkers may only compete in the milking doe
classes or the Pet Class. Does that are over 24 months of age
and have not freshened can only be entered in the Pet Class.
8.
On the
last day of showing, it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to
clean all their pens and empty their hay feeders.
9.
A $.50
per head, non-refundable pen fee will be charged.
10.
An animal shown in the junior class MAY NOT be shown in
the open class by any exhibitor except as part of exhibitor’s
herd entry.
11.
All goats shown at the fair will have neck collars on for the
entire time that they are on the fairgrounds.
12.
Only animals entered in a bred/age class may be used for
additional classes such as Dam & Daughter or Showmanship
