ANIMAL AND VET SCIENCES
SMALL ANIMALS
RULES:
1.
Open to members enrolled in Vet Science Project, Adventures in
Dairy or Animal Project doing similar work.
2.
Exhibit must be a poster or tabletop display. Posters and
charts must be 14" X 22" in size. Poster must deliver a clear
message.
3.
Table Top Display are to be more detailed in explanation and
three-dimensional. Display may be any size. All exhibits (with
the exception of posters) must have a written explanation on 3”
x 5” card (attached).
4.
Judging is pre-Fair and Face-To-Face. Judging times will be
published.
5.
Entry tags MUST be attached prior to judging.
6.
Entries judged that are missing any of the slated rules and
descriptions will be dropped one placing.
CLASS A - ADVENTURES IN DAIRYLAND

State Fair and Award of Excellence may be awarded to Class A – B

CLASS C – SMALL ANIMALS
AND PETS
RULES:
1.
All State of
WI
mandatory health regulations apply. See County & District Fairs,
Rules and Regulations of Animal health in front of this book.
2.
Open to those 4-H members enrolled in the Pets or Bird Project.
3.
Exhibits of animals/pets must be brought in an appropriate
cage.
4.
Only adult birds may be exhibited. Adult birds are defined as
those birds in mature plumage. Young birds that do not have
their plumage shall not be exhibited.
5.
Animals/Pets must be under the daily care, feeding and
supervision of member by April 1 of current year.
6.
Vet-In time and face to face judging time will be published in
the 4-H newsletter.
7.
A picture of exhibitor and animal/pet with description on a 8 ½
x 11” poster MUST be entered with animal/pet.
Picture will be displayed during fair and can be picked up after
7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Entry tag must be attached. Ribbons will be
displayed on picture.
8.
Animals/pets are to be taken home upon completion of
Face-to-Face judging.

NOTE:
Dept 6 – Horses:
The Small Animal & Vet Science judge will judge Horseless Horse
entries (Class F). Entries are to be entered under Dept 6 but
exhibitors are to bring them for face-to-face judging on
Monday. Entries may be picked up on Sunday after 7:00 p.m.
NOTE:
Dept 9 - Dogs:
The Small Animal and Vet Science judge will judge Dog Scrapbooks
(Class C). Scrapbooks are to be entered under Dept 9 but
exhibitors are to bring them for face-to-face judging on
Monday. Entries may be picked up on Sunday after 7:00 p.m.
