CRICKET SPITTING CONTEST |
The fourth annual cricket spitting contest will be held
at the 2007 Jefferson County Fair at 1 p.m. in front of the
Entertainment Tent on “Kids’ Day,” Wednesday, July 11.
The contest is divided into three divisions including the
pee wee division for children ages 10 and under, the junior
division for children ages 10 to 14 and the senior division
for participants ages 15 and over. The winner of each
division will advance to the finals which will begin at 3
p.m.
Participants must spit the cricket while standing within a
3-foot diameter circle within 10 seconds of when they put
the cricket in their month. Participates can use any
technique they choose as long as the cricket remains
completely intact. The distance is then measured from the
edge of the circle to where the cricket ends even if it
bounces or slides.
