Hershey’s
is sponsoring two baking contests for all Jefferson County residents.
There isn’t an entry fee. You
do not have to belong to
4-H or FFA.
The Adult Chocolate Dessert Contest is for ages 19 and over.
The Kids Cookie/Brownie/Bar contest is for ages 8 through 18 only.
The Prizes for adults is First $25.00 plus HERSHEY’S
baking products basket,
Second $20.00 and Third $15.00.
For the Kids it will be First $20.00 plus
HERSHEY’S
gift basket, Second $15.00 and Third $10.00.
Pre-registration
will NOT be required. Entry
forms are available online or from the
Fair Office. Entries
must arrive at the Jefferson County Showcase Tent no later than 5:00
p.m. Thursday, July 13th. Judging will be done on Thursday,
July 13th beginning at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome
to attend the judging, including fairgoers.

Hershey’s
Cocoa Classic Contest Rules:

Open to any individual who
is a Jefferson County resident.

Entry must be a baked
dessert made from “scratch”
-
A minimum of ¼
cup of HERSHEY’S
COCOA must be used and listed as “HERSHEY’S
COCOA” in the recipe.
-
If frosting is used and it
is chocolate, HERSHEY’S
COCOA must be used and listed as HERSHEY’S
COCOA” in the
recipe.
-
Dessert entry must be
submitted on cardboard for judging (no doily required)
-
Recipe(s) listing the
ingredients, preparation instructions and recipe author must be
submitted with the entry, printed on one side of the page

Judging will be based on the

BAKING CHIPS (any variety) must be used and listed as “HERSHEY’S

of the specific chip variety in the recipe

If the entry has chocolate
icing/drizzle, HERSHEY’S
COCOA must be used and listed as “HERSHEY’S
COCOA” in the icing/drizzle recipe.

Entry must be submitted as a
plate of six (6) on a doily-covered cardboard

Recipe(s) listing the
ingredients, preparation instructions and recipe author must be
submitted with the entry, printed on one side of the page
