Rules:
1.
All State of WI and Jefferson County Fair Park rules
apply. Both sets of
rules are found in the front portion of this book.
2.
Open class exhibitors are open to Jefferson County
residents and residents of
Rock, Walworth, Waukesha, Dane & Dodge, space
permitting
3.
Exhibits may be from the current year or the previous
year.
4.
Sheaf exhibits must be tied with at least two bands
5.
Sheaf
exhibits of grain
are to be 3” in diameter in the middle and are to be dried
throughout. Leaves MUST
be removed.
6.
Grass
hay sheaves are
to be 3” in diameter at the upper band.
Samples should be selected when in the right stage for
good hay, cured throughout, leaves left on, and as green cured
as possible.
7.
Clover
and alfalfa sheaves are
to be 3” at the largest diameter.
Samples should be selected when in right state for good
hay, cured throughout, leaves left on, and as green cured as
possible.
8.
Soybean
sheaves are
to be 4”-8” in diameter at the middle band exhibited fresh
with the roots on and the soil washed off.
Leaves must be removed.
9.
Baled
hay display
is a slab approximately 6”, wrapped neatly in a clear plastic
bag. Plastic wrap
or oversized bags are not to be used.
Tape entry tag to the bag and tape bag closed.
10.
Stalk
exhibits of corn are
to be displayed with roots on.
Remove ALL soil from the roots and exhibit your stalks in
a CLEAN 5 gallon bucket. Do
not use plastic bags. Tie
stalks together loosely with twine.
11.
Pecks
are to be
exhibited in a 5 quart bucket with lid and handle.
Grain and haylage must be 1” below the rim of bucket.
Grain judging will be based on uniformity of kernel,
soundness, percentage of foreign matter, damaged grain and
weight per bushel.
12.
Haylage
must indicate
what type of silo it is from (ex: sealed, stave, bunker).

Rules:
1.
Vegetables must come from the exhibitor’s garden
2.
Display trays (6” x 8”) are provided by the County
Fair
3.
Each exhibitor is required to arrange their own
vegetables and attach their own entry tags.
Entry tags should be attached to string and taped or
stapled to the tray.
