OPEN CLASS LLAMA AND ALPACA RULES AND CLASSIFICATIONS

Department 111
LLAMAS & ALPACAS

Rules:

1.     All exhibitors enter at their own risk

2.     The judge and/or superintendent reserve the right to excuse any llama/alpaca and/or exhibitor from the show (w/o refund) that is behaving in a disruptive manner, has violated show rules, or showing signs of ill health.  Llamas/alpacas must be dewormed 30 days prior to show date.

3.     Age of the llama/alpaca for halter classes will be determined by the show date.

4.     All General Fairground Rules and Wisconsin Administrative Code for County and District Fairs apply.

5.     Maximum of two llamas/alpacas per stall allowed.

6.     ALSA guidelines will be used when judging all classes.  Halter classes will be judged on conformation and soundness not fiber coverage.

7.     Youth must be 12 years or older to show an intact male 24 mo. and over in any class.

8.     Open show will be held following 4-H show.  Registration begins at 8 a.m. morning of show.  Open show to begin approximately 12 noon.  Show scheduled Saturday prior to the start of the fair.  CALL the fair office to confirm show date.

9.     Alpacas will be shown in their appropriate halter class.  Shorn and full fleece will be judged together unless enough entries justify class separation.  Showmanship, obstacle and costume classes will be combined with the llamas and entries are based upon participant grade/age level.

10.  On entry form, identify number of animals to be shown and stalls you  require.

11.  Future show persons must have parent or guardian at ringside.

12.  Entry fees $5.00 per animal, which allows that animal to be shown in all appropriate classes offered.
