POULTRY
RULES:
1.
All State of Wisconsin mandatory health regulations
apply. See County & District Fairs, Rules and Regulations of
Animal Health in front of this book.
2.
All Junior Fair rules apply. See Jefferson County
Fair-Junior Fair Rules in front of this book. In addition, the
following rules will also be enforced:

State law prohibits wild game at this fair. An
exhibitor's game farm license does not cover the fair.
4.
All poultry exhibits are to be made single, unless
otherwise noted.
5.
Only poultry as listed may be entered. No other entries
will be accepted.
6.
Entry tags will not be sent to exhibitors prior to fair
time, but will be placed directly on cages. Be sure your entries
are made correctly as you will not have an opportunity to make
corrections.
7.
All Poultry will be health inspected upon entry.
Any birds found to have parasites may not be shown.
Furthermore all poultry must be in reasonable feather or
they may not be shown. PLEASE check your
birds in with a superintendent before placing any poultry in
cages at the fair.
8.
Sticker awards will be used on entry tags at the fair.
Junior fair exhibitors are to pick up their ribbon awards at the
time each individual class is judged on Friday.
9.
Certificate of Pullorum Typhoid blood test is required to
exhibit poultry at the fair for both chickens and turkeys (See
Pullorum Typhoid guidelines in front of this book).
All certificates
MUST be turned in prior to checking in your poultry.
10.
A $.25 per bird, non-refundable cage fee will be charged.
11.
All market entries should be market ready (age and
condition) and will be weighed in on Thursday.
Market Entries that do not receive a weigh-in slip will
not be judged. All
market entries receiving a blue ribbon will be eligible to be
sold in the Small Animal Sale.
12.
All Poultry must be banded, with a numbered leg or wing
band, prior to arriving at the fair. This number must be
recorded, on the back of the entry tag, by the exhibitor, at
time of check-in.
13.
All exhibitors must complete a minimum of one (1) hour of
barn duty during the fair.
14.
All exhibitors must complete either set-up or take down
at Fair.
15.
All food and water will be provided, however all
exhibitors must feed and water their own poultry.
16.
All food and water cups must be provided by each
exhibitor. No paper cups or paper containers are permitted.
17.
Each exhibitor is limited to 12 total Lots containing
poultry. Eggs, Showmanship, Posters and Herdsmanship are not
included in this Lot total.
18.
Each exhibitor must be present to show their own poultry.
If an exhibitor is not present or has not made arrangements with
another individual exhibitor that Lot will automatically receive
a Participation Ribbon.
19.
Owners bring birds at their own risk.
20.
The American Standard of Perfection shall be main guide
of the judges.
21.
The superintendents reserve the right to send any poultry
home for showing signs of poor health during the Fair.
If your bird is shown to be in poor health it must be
removed immediately.

RULES:
1.
All clubs, regardless of the number of entries, must
enter herdsmanship and will be required to follow all
herdsmanship and exhibit rules. Make your club herdsmanship
entry on the regular county fair entry blank in the name of the
club.
2.
Small and large club divisions will be determined after
poultry exhibits are in place at the fair.
3.
The scorecard for judging herdsmanship and other rules
pertaining to herdsmanship will be found in the current year's
"Poultry Project Handout".
