JUNIOR CLASS CLOVERBUDS RULES AND CLASSIFICATIONS

 

Department 17

CLOVERBUDS

RULES:

1.     All State of Wisconsin and Jefferson County Fair rules apply. Both sets of rules are located in the front of this book. In addition the following rules will also be enforced.

2.     Open to members enrolled in Cloverbuds.  Grade K-2 Only.

3.     Judging will be done face to face with an older youth as judge.  Members will receive a special rosette ribbon in recognition for their work and a sticker dot will be added to their rosette for each project exhibited.

4.     Poster size is to be 14"x22".

5.     Displays must be on a 3’ x 5’ board or something strong to hold display on, must be secured down with wire or glue, must be assembled before bringing to fair.  (Can’t set up at fair applies to both).  Include a 3” x 5” card to explain your display.

6.     Pictures can be cutout, drawings or photos.  Pictures should be glued on with rubber cement and be labeled.  Posters must have a title.  NO LIVE ANIMALS!

7.     ALL work should be done by the member but may be assisted by parent or leader. Items listed after each lot number are ONLY SUGGESTED ideas for possible exhibits.  Exhibits are not limited to these.

8.     Project must fit into category listed (ONLY ONE PER LOT #)

 

Maximum Projects Allowed:

Kindergarten – 1 or 2 projects

1st Grade – 2 or 3 projects

2nd Grade – 3 or 4 projects

 

Premiums: A $1.50 participation premium will be awarded for each exhibit displayed at the Fair.

 

Class - A

1.     Animal Science (create a critter, poster of any type of insect or pet, bird feeder, or birdhouse).

2.     Expressive Arts (musical instrument, puppet, decorated T-shirt, picture drawn using any type of media, photo display of 4 pictures).

3.     Home Economics (poster or display about nutrition, a written menu for a day, poster about how I help at home, a simple craft item, a tray of baked good – 3 of same item, poster or display of proper hygiene).

4.     Mechanical Science (poster of safety homemade kits, poster of model of electric circuit, paper airplane or rocket model made by the exhibitor).

5.     Natural Resources (Collection of 3 leaves, bark rubbing poster, a nature mobile, poster or display about pollution or conservation, craft, made from recycled materials).

6.     Personal Growth and Development (My Family Tree poster, family portrait drawn or with pictures and description, poster of best friend, display or poster of what I want to be when I grow up, autographs of 10-15 people who work in the community with a picture and description of their job displayed on a poster.

7.     Plant and Soil Science (plant grown from a seed, poster on the life cycle of a plant, picture made with seeds).

8.     Science and Technology (simples rain gauge made by exhibitor, a weather poster, display or poster of solar system or favorite planet, chemistry poster or display, computer poster).
